Commercial or custom?

Most cases for displaying collectibles and sale items are made of wood (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) and glass or acrylic. Some are made of solid, clear glass or acrylic. There are a few wall hanging shadow box types of cases to be had, but most come in the form of cabinets. If wood strikes your fancy, you can take your pick of solid oak, cherry, walnut, or a variety of other fine hardwoods. Once you've made your selection of materials, you'll need to decide whether you want to go for commercial models, or order your cases custom made. The former are generally less expensive (especially the acrylic ones), but shop smartly and you'll be able to find vendors who'll be happy to custom build a quality wooden or acrylic case for you.
