A Flag Display Case Makes a Proud Display

Many people use a flag display case to proudly the flag presented at the burial of a loved one who served in a branch of the American Armed Forces. The most common type of flag case is one that displays the memorial casket flag. This is a flag that is presented to the family of a serviceman or woman at the funeral. Some flag cases also have compartments where medals and ribbons of honor can also be proudly displayed. There are several different designs and sizes of this type of case that customers can choose from.

Almost all US flag display cases are made of wood and glass. The frame is usually made from solid oak or pine with a sliding glass front. The cases are made to fit either a 3 x 5 foot flag or a 9 x 5.5 foot flag. Some ways you can display these flag cases are:

  • Mounted on the wall
  • Displayed on a shelf
  • Kept in a case as part of military memorabilia.

These cases are usually in a triangle or rectangle shape with the flag folded neatly inside. You can purchase a ready made case or have one custom made from whatever type of wood you prefer from solid oak and cherry to walnut and pine. In addition to displaying the flag, the case can be an heirloom in itself that you can pass on to other family members.

There are other uses for a display case for flags that does not include death or mourning. Many international hotels display flags from all over the world in the lobby, particularly if the hotel is part of a world-wide chain. These cases are much larger and have the flags on the pole standing upright in the case.
